Two officials from the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT) have been dismissed after a serious altercation that reportedly escalated into violence within the institution’s premises in Tirana.
IKMT Director Afrim Qendro has terminated the duties of Klesti Çela and Ervin Bixha. Bixha had been serving as an advisor to the Chief Inspector of the institution.
According to media reports, the confrontation involved Fatmir Meta and allegedly stemmed from tensions linked to an inspection group overseeing soil management issues. Sources suggest the dispute is connected to actions taken to prevent the dumping of soil on the outskirts of Tirana.
The disagreement reportedly began as a verbal exchange a day earlier before escalating into physical violence the following day. Reports indicate that Meta was allegedly assaulted by Çela and several accompanying individuals inside IKMT offices. There are also claims that gunshots were heard during the incident, though authorities have yet to confirm full details.
Media reports further note that Klesti Çela serves as Director of Environment and has family ties to Ergys Agas. Additionally, Ervin Bixha is reported to be related to a figure previously mentioned in the “Agasi” case.
Following the altercation, Çela is said to have gone to Director Qendro’s office, where he requested his resignation. Shortly afterward, Qendro dismissed both officials from their positions.
The exact circumstances of the incident remain under investigation as authorities work to clarify responsibility and determine whether further legal action will be taken.
